Visual Sound – Immersive Music in the Castle is a cultural project designed to enhance the Castello Savelli Torlonia in Palombara Sabina through a series of audiovisual performances and live electronic music concerts.

The project features 14 interdisciplinary performances presented over seven evenings in May 2026, transforming the historical spaces of the castle into an immersive environment where music, visuals and architecture interact.

The performances combine live electronic music, audiovisual art and video mapping, reinterpreting the architecture of the castle through contemporary digital languages. The historical surfaces of the building become dynamic narrative screens, turning the monument into a visual and sonic experience.

The program involves artists under 36 from the Lazio region, together with national and international artists, encouraging dialogue between emerging creatives and global artistic scenes.

The project also includes a seven-day artistic residency dedicated to two young collectives selected through a curatorial call. During the residency, artists develop site-specific audiovisual works designed to interact with the architecture and history of the castle, which are presented during the opening evenings.

Each event is preceded by public talks with the artists, informal moments that allow audiences to discover the creative processes and technologies behind the performances.

The initiative promotes a contemporary approach to the enhancement of cultural heritage, building a bridge between art, technology and historical memory. The performances are also inspired by the castle’s fresco cycle dedicated to the Liberal Arts, symbolically translating these forms of knowledge into digital and audiovisual expressions.

Particular attention is given to cultural accessibility: the project includes measures to facilitate participation by people with motor and sensory disabilities, including subtitles for spoken content, selective audio descriptions, reserved seating areas and low-sensory zones.

The artistic direction is curated by Gianluca Del Gobbo, internationally recognized for his work in the field of digital and audiovisual arts. Technical support is provided by the team of Fotonica Festival, which contributes audiovisual equipment and technical production.

By engaging artists, audiences and the local community, Visual Sound proposes an innovative model for the enhancement of cultural heritage, combining contemporary creativity, technology and local participation.
